Kubrick, Stanley
b. July 26, 1928 d. March 7, 1999Director, writer, producer, cinematographer, work includes "Spartacus," "Lolita," "Dr. Strangelove..." "2001: A Space Odyssey," "The Shining," "Full Metal Jacket," "A Clockwork Orange," and "Eyes Wide Shut." He also won an Academy Award for Best Special Visual Effects in 1968.

Aquinas, Saint Thomas
b. 1225 d. March 7, 1274
Roman Catholic Saint. He secretly joined the Dominican friars in 1244. He studied in Paris for three years and was ordained in 1250. He is best remembered for his writings and Pope Leo VIII insisted that his teachings were studied by all students of theology. He was canonized in 1323 and in 1567 he was declared a doctor of the church. He is the patron saint of academics, philosophers, universities and book sellers.

Hauteville, Bohemond of
b. 1058 d. March 7, 1111
Crusader, One of the leaders of the first Crusade. Count of Taranto. Oldest son of Duke Robert Guiscard and his first wife Alberada. He was the first to get into position before Antioch and was responsible for the successful end of the siege in 1098. He was able to persuade one of the commanders in the city to betray his people. He was unwilling to act before he wasn't assured that the city would be his possession. He was taken prisoner in August 1100 and was released in 1103 after Baldwin.

Walkabout, Billy Bob
b. March 31, 1949 d. March 7, 2007
United States Army Officer. He was the most decorated Native American soldier of the Vietnam War, receiving the Distinguished Service Cross, Purple Heart, five Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars. Born into the Cherokee Nation in Cherokee County, Oklahoma, he enlisted in Company F, 58th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, and was serving with his unit when his actions on November 20, 1968 earned him the Distinguished Service Cross.

Jackson, William Purnell
b. January 11, 1868 d. March 7, 1939
Republican politician from Maryland. He was appointed to the US Senate in 1912 upon the death of Isidor Rayner and served until 1914. He also served as Maryland state Treasurer from 1918-1920.

Winfield, Paul
b. May 22, 1939 d. March 7, 2004
Oscar nominated and Emmy award winning actor. Oscar-nominated for the movie "Sounder"(1972), and nominated for an Emmy for the TV miniseries "King" (1978) and "Roots: The Next Generation." He won an Emmy in 1992 for his guest role as a judge in a racially charged pair of episodes of "Picket Fences." He gained recognition in 1968 playing the boyfriend of Diahann Carroll in her situation comedy "Julia." Other roles include The Mirror on the TV series "The Charmings" and Capt. Clark Terrell.

Pollard, John M. 'Red'
b. October 27, 1909 d. March 7, 1981
Jockey, American Folk Person. This Canadian born jockey's career spanned some thirty years. Beset by serious injuries, John Pollard endured and prevailed. Allied with Seabiscuit and owner Charles S. Howard, he became the equine's primary rider. Seabiscuit and John (Red) became a team.
Winchester, William Wirt d. March 7, 1881Son of Oliver Winchester and heir to the Winchester Rifle fortune.Married Sarah Pardee who became his heir and after his death built the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose California.

McCormick, Washington Jay
b. January 4, 1884 d. March 7, 1949
US Congressman. Elected to represent Montana in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1921 to 1923. He was defeated in 1922. Also served as a Member of the Montana State House of Representatives, serving from 1918 to 1920.

Knox, Samuel
b. March 21, 1815 d. March 7, 1905
US Congressman. Elected to represent Missouri's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1864 to 1865.

Parsons (Gonzales), Lucy (Lucia Ella)
b. 1853 d. March 7, 1942
Was a radical who dedicated her life to social justice. Wife of Albert Parsons, one of the Haymarket Martyrs.

Milstead, Harris Glenn 'Divine'
b. October 19, 1945 d. March 7, 1988
Actor, signer, cult figure, known exclusively by his drag persona, "Divine." Born Harris Glenn Milstead to Bernard and Diana Francis Milstead, he moved at age 12 to Lutherville, a Maryland suburb, where he later met John Waters in High School. Waters became a lifelong friend and the infamous union of director and star was born. Divine starred in a number of films and was well known for being a part of the regular cast and crew of the troupe The Dreamlanders who appeared in many of Waters'.

Brittin, Nelson Vogel
b. October 31, 1920 d. March 7, 1951
Korean War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served during the Korean War in the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class, in Company I, 19th Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in the vicinity of Yonggong-ni, Korea, March 7, 1951. His citation reads "Sfc. Brittin, a member of Company I, distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty in action.

Maloney, James Monte
b. April 20, 1902 d. March 7, 1962
Jazz Musician. Big Band Leader in Texas (Jimmy Joy and his Orchestra).
